Dry Bilges aboard a 36' Gilliken Sportfish: view of the keel below the engine room floor panels
Under the engine room floor panels a small amount of water would pocket on both sides of the keel. During the day this water is constantly evaporating. Late in the day after sunset, the cooling humid air results in condensation and sweating of the engines. Remove the bilge water and the engine room becomes a more comfortable place to work while ending the engine sweat cycle.
